Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
ACSI provides treatment services to children with ASD. Treatment will allow intervention and alternative to children and youth with ASD whom developmental disabilities can cause significant social, communication and behavioral challenges. Clinical support will bridge the gaps children have in order to overcome or adjust to many difficulties.
The earlier a child starts treatment for autism, the better. Staff will work to improve communication skills, improve social skills, such as how to greet people, wait for a turn, and follow directions. Alternatives in being able to sitting still or controlling their tempers and control their behaviors will be addressed. If medication management is recommended, staff will work the youth and families to understand this disorder, as well as monitor side effects of medication. Treatment can be provided at home or in special classes at public/private schools.
